The Process Diagnostics and Inspection Engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.  Focus will be on developing and implementing inspection and diagnostic techniques in order to improve manufacturing yields and reduce production costs. This position will require working closely with other engineers, technicians, and production operators in order to achieve results.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods and create process routings
  • Design and build / procure necessary tooling and finishing within budgets
  • Support equipment upgrades from purchase through installation
  • Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to processes and/or equipment
  • Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via process changes or improvements (inspection focus)
  • Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
  • Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation
  • Support the quality function through integration of ISO (International Organization for Standardization) / QC (Quality Control) documentation and Manufacturing methods Instructions
  • Lead high impact process and quality improvement projects yielding significant reduction in defects and increased productivity
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to improve manufacturing processes
  • Ability to manage priorities and achieve results
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong manufacturing process knowledge
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering
  • Manufacturing or Operations engineering experience preferred
