Equipment Maintenance Technician


The role of the equipment maintenance technician is to support manufacturing in front and back end operations. Service and repair tools and provide periodic maintenance of production tools on respective shift

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Track tools’ uptime
  • Ensure there is an adequate supply of spares on hand
  • Arrange for external service contractors to come in as needed
  • Support new tool installations
  • Develop solid understanding of each tool’s operating requirements and associated facilities hook up and controls
  • Must have knowledge and understand operation of all types of vacuum pumps (mechanical, turbo, cryo, etc) and how to repair/replace defective modules
  • Requires availability during weekends (on call basis)
  • Ensure production tools are operational on a daily status
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on tools to avoid downtime
  • Conduct periodic full level maintenance on tools not supported by a service contract
  • Ensure tools are operating in a safe condition
  • Interact with engineers and operators and production control for scheduling activities

General Qualifications:

  • Experience with clean room protocols for operation, installation and service
  • Experience with electrical and chemical systems (exhaust, waste drains, lift stations, etc) found in semiconductor operations
  • 2 year technical degree.
  • 5+ year experience with semiconductor vacuum systems. Experience operating in a clean room environment.
  • Experience with working with precision machine shops
  • Working experience with vacuum systems, thin film deposition systems
  • Working experience with robotic control systems (wafer transfer. Wafer loader, etc)
  • Working experience with maintenance scheduling and execution
